Magnetizing comfort
The FreeLoo Magnet DIY kit is anything but standard - it gives you the possibility to use your own ideas to create your dream composting toilet without having to make any compromises on design or practicality. It comes with a separator and our smallest containers, and it is the perfect base for your small composting toilet. Also included is a magnetic toilet seat made of birch plywood which is both comfortable and super easy to clean.
Please note that the FreeLoo Magnet S DIY kit is supplied without the outer box and lid. The big advantage of this is that you don’t have to follow standard dimensions but can adjust the size of the toilet to fit your space. The FreeLoo Magnet DIY kit is specially designed to be put in a box or a similar toilet system.
Included in the DIY kit:

The FreeLoo Magnet including pre-assembled separator
Contrary to our FreeLoo and FreeLoo Bamboo DIY kits, the FreeLoo Magnet DIY kit comes with the Classic XL separator already cut to size. To make sure that the magnets are aligned accurately, we pre-assemble the magnetic counterparts on the separator. This means your FreeLoo Magnet comes ready to assemble.
The FreeLoo Magnet DIY Kit is not available in size L since our largest solids bucket does not fit the pre-assembled separator.
The pre-assembled Classic XL separator is made of 4 mm (0.2 in) thick ABS plastic, which is recyclable and very stable. Both the top and bottom of the separator have a high-gloss finish which repels dirt and makes it easy to wipe clean.
Magnetic toilet seat — clean and cozy
The toilet seat is made of 15 mm (0.6 in) birch plywood and can support up to 150 kg (330 lbs). This makes your self-built composting toilet extra comfy. The wooden seat is handmade in the Ore Mountains and comes varnished and ready to use. Sitting on it almost feels like sitting on a regular toilet.
There is one more detail worth mentioning - it’s magnetic. Instead of using classic hinges or plastic components that are easy to break and hard to keep clean, our toilet seat is stuck on with magnets. This makes cleaning easier and there are no hinges, drill holes or small spaces where dirt and germs can accumulate. To clean it you simply spray it down, wipe it off, and then remove the seat completely if you want to clean the separator as well. The separator has the same easy-to-clean smooth surface, making this the perfect design for a toilet on the go.
The FreeLoo Magnet S DIY kit with our smallest containers: Your road to independence
The containers for the liquids and solids are both made from recyclable plastic which makes them durable and easy to clean. When designing your composting toilet with our FreeLoo Magnet DIY kit you get to choose all the details! Use the measurements of the containers to create a design where they fit snugly, and decide how and from where you want to have access to the containers. You can custom make your toilet to perfectly fit your space. Decide if you want to remove the containers from the side or the top when emptying them, build the toilet to fit your space, and design it to stand out or blend in.
The included urine container has a capacity of 5 liters (1.3 gal.), is made of recyclable polyethylene and measures 117.5 x 28.3 x 13.3 cm (6.9 x 11.1 x 5.2 in).
The included solids bucket also has a capacity of 5.5 liters (1.4 gal.), is made of recyclable polypropylene and measures 19.5 x 28.4 x 14.8 cm (7.7 x 11.2 x 5.8 in).
The urine container can be used up to 12 times before needing to be emptied. When it comes to the solids bucket you can use it up to 7 times before emptying. This means that two people can travel without restrictions for up to three days.
However, we recommend that you empty the urine container every day, or every other day, regardless of the amount of urine it contains. This is to prevent bad smells and odors.
If you leave at least 29 cm (11.4 in) between the top edge of the separator and the bottom edge of the urine container when building your toilet, you can use our Spillguard Kit with it. It offers splash and leakage protection and helps with odor control.
