Kildwick humus brick/coconut brick 650 g

Coconut Bricks for Use in Dry Separation Toilets:

Our coconut bricks are excellent as bedding for separation toilets or as a natural and environmentally friendly process accelerator for solid waste on compost.

They are characterized by the following features:

  • Moisture Absorption: Coconut bricks are capable of effectively absorbing moisture. In a dry separation toilet, this can help to reduce the liquid in solid waste, thus facilitating composting.
  • Odor Control: The good moisture absorption also helps to minimize unpleasant odors in the toilet.
  • Compostability: Coconut bricks are biodegradable and can be added to compost with solid waste to produce high-quality humus.
  • Environmental Friendliness: Coconut bricks are made from renewable coconut shells, making them an environmentally friendly choice.

Usage as:

  • Bedding: Crumble the coconut fiber bricks and add 1-2 handfuls to the waste as needed
  • Composting Accelerator: Dissolve one brick (about 650 g) in 4-5 liters of water (yields a volume of about 8-9 liters) and mix it with the compost and solid waste.

If the bricks are intended for use in stirring toilets, they must be pre-soaked. This process can take 30 minutes (hot water) to 12 hours (cold water) depending on the water temperature. For dosing, please follow the manufacturer's instructions of the toilet.

Coconut Bricks/Humus Bricks for Use as Potting Soil:

Our bricks made of compressed coconut fibers are also excellent as a high-quality fertilizer. The humus obtained from the bricks is an excellent fertilizer for plants and ensures healthy growth. Adding humus improves soil structure, increases water storage capacity, and promotes nutrient uptake in plants.

What are the Advantages of Coconut Soil?

  • Root and Shoot Development: Coconut soil helps to support healthier development of roots and shoots.
  • Excellent Water Retention: It is characterized by its excellent ability to store water.
  • Reduced Water Need: Thanks to its water retention capability, it's possible to water plants less frequently, which in turn means less dry stress for your plants. This leads to higher yields and stronger flowering.
  • Improved Oxygen Exchange: Coconut soil promotes efficient oxygen exchange at the roots, leading to better oxygen supply for the plants.
  • Soil Improvement and Loosening: It contributes to the improvement of soil structure and ensures soil loosening. These advantages make coconut soil an excellent choice for plant care and soil improvement.

How to Use Coconut Bricks?

A 650 g coconut brick, after swelling with water, yields about 8 liters of high-quality coconut fiber potting soil. The block is easy to portion. This potting soil is characterized by its peat-free nature. It is also unfertilized and has a high water storage capacity. This means you need less watering, and your plants are continuously supplied with moisture. Coconut fiber humus is a completely organic product obtained from the fibers of the coconut husk. It is a 100 % pure natural product made from renewable raw materials and is completely biodegradable. In the soil, the decomposition process takes about 5 years. This swelling soil is also excellent as a seeding soil or growing soil for herbs, vegetables, ornamental plants, and even exotics. It is extremely versatile. You can use the coconut soil pure or mix it with other substrates to create your own potting soil mixture. It is also an excellent addition for raised beds. Application - Coconut soil swells by adding 3-4 liters of lukewarm water to about 8 liters of fine coconut potting soil.

Coconut Bricks for Use in Terrariums:

Our humus bricks create a natural and healthy environment for reptiles and other terrarium inhabitants. They can absorb excess moisture, thus maintaining an optimal moisture level in the terrarium. Properties - Peat-free & unfertilized - 100 % derived from renewable resources.
