What import duties may apply when I order from Kildwick?
You are wondering how much your order will cost in the end – with taxes and customs? We would like to give you some hints here.
Orders with a delivery address in Germany
Of course there are no customs duties or extra costs. The invoice amount you have paid in our store is your final amount.
Orders with a delivery address in the EU
Also for these orders there are no extra duties. Only the price of our products will change based on the VAT applicable in your country – more information about this can be found here.
Orders with a delivery address in Switzerland
Switzerland is a so-called third country and does not belong to the European Union. Therefore, different rules apply to orders that reach us from Switzerland. Basically it is no problem at all to ship to Switzerland - we have already sent many Kildwick products to Switzerland. So you can order without hesitation in our store, the delivery will be done directly with DHL. Here you will find further important information concerning the delivery country Switzerland.
Orders with a delivery address in a non-EU country ("non-EU")
Please inform yourself at your customs authorities about the formalities and fees of an import from Germany. Since each country has different customs and import regulations, we can not give you specific information.
Basically, you have to expect that when importing into your country, the local VAT will be charged and possibly also an import duty (depending on the classification of the product). The basis for calculating import duties often depends on the product value and the product class. It is indicated by the customs tariff number, also called TARIC code. In our store you can find this customs tariff number on the detail pages of the product directly next to the item number.
Depending on the country, however, there are also corresponding import limits, which means: If the product value plus shipping costs does not exceed a certain (country-dependent) value, no customs duty may be due at all. The customs authorities in your country will certainly be able to help you in this regard.
I have a delivery address in the UK – what customs duties should I expect?
We are receiving a lot of questions concerning delivery to the UK. Since the UK left the EU, duty-free delivery is not possible any more.
We do not charge any VAT incurred in the EU. This is levied by British customs on import. In addition, import duties apply depending on the product class. Unfortunately, we cannot provide you with current data on the amount of these duties. However, you can find this information at https://www.gov.uk/vat-rates. You will find the corresponding TARIC code next to the item number in the item view.
